New Horizons Presbyterian Church
We are a progressive and inclusive voice for Overland Missouri, and committed to our mission of helping our neighbors in meaningful ways. We are a member of the Presbytery of Giddings-Lovejoy, and part of the connectional Presbyterian Church/USA. New Horizons is a merger of two former congregations in the area: Overland Presbyterian and Home Heights Presbyterian Churches in 2005. Our congregation is generally older and small, but full of vitality as we seek to serve those around us and across the world. We house a large food pantry run by a community non-profit called Ritenour Co-Care, and have partnered with the Kenyan church who also worship here to drill a well in an arid region of Kenya.
We worship Jesus Christ and seek to follow him in our personal and corporate lives. We are a member of the Reformed faith, believing that we are always reforming, seeking to know God more and to follow God more closely. We worship at 10:30 am on Sundays with occasional ‘casual’ services held in the more intimate Jubilee Hall. We normally have a time for fellowship right after worship when we can visit with friends old and new. We provide quality childcare during our worship service. Engaging, interactive Bible study is led by our Pastor, Reverend Marsha Brown, for adults year round at 9 am. Christian Education for children and youth happens during the school year. We welcome everyone to our community regardless of tradition or no tradition, past lives, sexual orientation or situation. This is God’s house and this is Christ’s table - all are welcome.
